Welcome to the website of the Empathy in Health Care project!
The objective of the project is to introduce a very important competence in healthcare education, that is, empathy. We believe that empathy is the key to fill the existing gap in healthcare education both at higher education level, as well as in vocational education.
For this purpose, we have developed a curriculum for the development of empathetic skills, accompanied with related training materials. The curriculum and the training materials have been certified with ISO.
Our priority was to develop a program that is based on current research findings as well as on the participation of trainers, students/trainees and patients. The latter’s experiences, ideas and expectations in combination with educational videos and VR technology provided us with the necessary set of competences to achieve this aim.
To serve this ambitious aim, we have developed a team consisting of prominent colleagues from six different organizations, representing four countries of the European Union.
All partners have extensive experience in the field of education and training in Higher and Vocational education. Also, among us, there are partners with high technology knowledge and abilities.
